hernando...
against all odds, there appears to be a smattering of actual talent embedded in this class of ours - one case in particular, a spanish surrealist and one-time cheerleader, larry gomez;
who, long ago, we nicknamed hernando, (in obvious reference to his spanish surname and in conjunction with a popular song at the time, "hernando's hideaway" - truth be known, he has never warmed up to the hernando tag) although he goes by lare now (though why anyone would want to shorten/modify such a cool name as larry is beyond me) - anyway, in addition to his career in the business/computer world, he has simultaneously cultured a second career as an artist of some renown - I remember enjoying many of his early works, back in the 60's, before I moved from southern california, but don't take my word for it, art is such a matter of personal taste, check out his website, illusions by lare, and see for yourself - you may discover the Salvador DalĂ of our generation and be pleasantly impressed, if not surprised...
